A Journey into Halftone Art
In April 2016, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne showcased the Andy Warhol and Ai Wei Wei exhibition, which profoundly influenced my artistic journey. As an enthusiast of digital art, I was particularly drawn to Warhol's pioneering use of halftones in his renowned pop art creations. This exhibition served as a pivotal moment, inspiring me to delve into traditional art forms, with a focus on screenprinting. Fascinated by the blend of digital techniques and manual craftsmanship, I initiated my inaugural screenprinting project, "Screen Blossoms."
The project focuses on color separation and halftone techniques. By dividing a photograph into CMYK channels, I created a reimagined image using four silk screens, each dedicated to a single color. This process blends digital precision with the organic feel of traditional printing. 'Screen Blossoms' represents the fusion of digital and analog art, exploring color, texture, and form. This venture into screenprinting was a pivotal moment in my artistic journey, inspired by pop art masters and realized through my creative vision.
